ABOUT DR. MEGAN HUNSAKER

Dr. Hunsaker utilizes evidence based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Pain Reprocessing Therapy and mindfulness based strategies with the intent of helping her clients reach their goals and increase their quality of life. In working with Dr. Hunsaker, you will work through a specific treatment plan and will learn coping skills and strategies to better understand the interaction between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

Dr. Hunsaker received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at Montana State University. She obtained her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Dakota and completed her internship at the Salt Lake City VA Hospital. She participated in Post Doctoral supervision at the MT VA Hospital System in Primary Care Mental Health Integration. She is licensed to practice psychology in Montana and Hawaii.

Dr. Hunsaker has clinical experience working in primary care clinics, home based primary care, a multidisciplinary geriatric evaluation team, community based mental health clinics, a residential setting, outpatient mental health settings in large and small hospital systems, as well as medical psychology consult liaison services for a large hospital system. She has experience with individual therapy, group therapy and psychological assessment. She works primarily with adults and has experience working with active duty military members as well as Veterans.  She specializes in helping clients with chronic pain, insomnia, stress and coping with chronic illness. Dr. Hunsaker has received specialized training in CBT-Insomnia. She is certified in Primary Care Mental Health, Pain Reprocessing Therapy, CBT-Chronic Pain and Empowered Relief. She also has a certification in Nutrition and Mental Health.
